First MVVC 2011 Festival Planning Meeting
2:00 PM Sunday, February 27
Corner Brewery
720 Norris St., Ypsilanti, MI 48198
It's hard to believe, but the 2011 MVVC Vintage Festival weekend is only a little more than three months away! That's Saturday, May 21 for the Saturday activities and Festival Kick-Off Evening Get-Together and Sunday, May 22 for the big Festival Show at Riverside Park, Depot Town, Ypsilanti. A lot has been planned and much is underway, but we've still got a lot to think about and arrange in order to produce the great fun Festival the MVVC has become known for!
This is where you come in. The MVVC is holding the first 2011 Festival planning meeting for the membership at 2:00 PM on Sunday, February 27 at the Corner Brewing Brew Pub just north of Depot Town, Ypsilanti. The meeting will give MVVC members a chance to learn what's been planned and arranged for the Festival thus far (such as show theme, special features and activities during the festival, pre- and post-show gatherings, overnight accommodations, promotion and general Festival logistics). There is still a lot of planning and organizing remaining and the MVVC needs your ideas, input, and help planning and executing these. As ever, we will be in desperate need of volunteer workers during the Festival and will look to sign members up for an hour assisting in one the several tasks necessary to pull off a successful event! Worker sign-up will also be done on the MVVC website (www.mvvc.net)
Many hands make light work and the more the merrier, so please join your fellow MVVC members at the Corner Brewing Brew Pub for Festival planning, a Sunday lunch, and a brew or two. This establishment was very positively received by those attending the planning meetings held last year. It is easy to get to, offers good food and great beer at reasonable prices, and is large enough to accommodate large groups. This Ypsi site is chosen, too, because it is more or less central to the geographic range of our wide-spread membership.
Corner Brewing is located at 720 Norris St., just north of Depot Town. From downtown or Depot Town Ypsilanti, take Huron St. north to Forest Ave. Turn right (east) onto Forest, cross the river, and then turn left (north again) onto Norris. Corner Brewing is on the right side of the street in a cool, converted industrial building. (Ph. 734-480-2739). Parking is available in the big lot on the north side of the building as well as in the lot on the building's south side. If you have any questions, please e-mail events@mvvc.net or call Tom Siligato at 248-489-4136 and leave a message with your name and phone number.
